After an hour investigating the options available for setting up, hosting, and linking a blog to a custom domain we chose Bearblog ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ and it wasn't even close.
Great code of conduct, awesome simple interface, flexible formatting, markdown support, great rates for adding a custom domain and especially important no over-commercialization or weird monetization strategies that get in the way of VIEWING THE CONTENT.
